Help! I think I bought the wrong PSU!

stendhal

I bought the EVGA NEX750G SuperNOVA 80+ Gold and a Vapor-X 290.

The PSU has 4x rails, and each rail outputs 20A.

The R9 290 needs 250W(550W PSU recommended) and 31A. I don't know if one rail can provide enough power for the 290.

use 2 rails

don't run your GPU from one rail unless you want to start a fire

lol ... fire ... peoples imagination.

It will most likely just trigger a overcurrent protection and shut the pc down ;)

______

@ OP

just read the PSU manual how to connect your GPU ;)

Thanks both for your answers. I will connect the PSU to 2 rails and also read the manual. But, because I've already ordered the parts, so they're on their way, could someone explain to me how can I connect a card in 2 rails?

From the photo I see, there are 4 VGA 8pin ports(VGA 1, VGA2, VGA3, VGA4). How do I connect the card?

Can you stop giving power supply advice already. You obviously don't look things up, and might "start a fire".

Thanks.

I found their manual online.

Here's an image:

The GPU needs 2x 8-pin connectors.

The PSU has these ports:

Is this how the connection should be?

Thanks a lot!

You got the right idea there with your play by play art!
