How to burn a huge installer (12GB) to DVD?

AmateurPCGuy

I have a 12GB installer of Adobe CS6 that my friend needs. The problem is that he doesn't have a flash drive capable of having that capacity/have a external hard drive, so I resort to the old-school burn to dvd method. The problem is that I have no idea how to split the installer into 3 DVDs.

Anyone have an idea how to do it?

The easiest way would be to use something like winrar to split it into 3 different archives of a certain size (DVD size) and then burn those to disk, copy them and extract them on another PC.

open it in 7zip, click 'add to archive' from the menu and then 'split to volume/bytes' and enter amounts that will fit on a DVD/just select DVD then run.

You will then have multiple files that you can burn with software like imgburn

both of these utilities are freeware btw, unlike the sofware that you are very likely pirating.

only 2 volumes will be necessary. (unless he is in DVD5 stone age that is lol)

I actually forgot to ask OP the size of the dvds he has can you believe this stupidity you might be right after all if he is using DVD5 I forgot they even existed!

There's no option for .iso... Only available ones are .7z, .tar, .wim, and the infamous .zip

make it 7zip, then burn them with imgburn, just select 'write files/folders to disc' in imgburn as picture below.

^lol imgburn dev has a sense of humour^

Then just take the discs, copy the files to their new destination and use 7zip to turn 'em back into a single .iso and you're done. :)
