How to Fix CCC W8 Installation Error

This has been an ongoing issue for me and I have finally found a fix. Catalyst Control Center does not install sometimes and is very frustrating. This can not be fixed with a simple reinstall.

It would be this error when you restart after installing drivers:

The error is fixed in this guide.

Guide:

The problem is (I don't know exactly what it is) with your MS .NET framework drivers.

Step one:

Download MS .NET framework uninstaller here. Don't use it now. If it is unchecked, download the file called "dotnetfx_cleanup_tool"

Step two:

Download the latest MS .NET framework drivers here. Keep that and do not try installing. You'll need it later.

Step three:

Download AMD drivers to install here. Do not use this either, just leave it on your desktop, you'll need it later.

Step four:

Download Driver Fusion for free (or get premium) here. Don't do anything here yet.

Step five:

Run the .NET uninstaller and reboot.

Step six:

Install your MS .NET framework drivers and reboot.

Step seven:

After rebooting, uninstall your current drivers using Driver Fusion. Go to: Display//AMD//Delete and reboot.

Step eight:

After rebooting, install your latest AMD drivers and reboot.

Step nine:

You now have CCC! Good job you.

I hope this helps someone :)

I don't get it. .NET comes standard with windows 8 and I assume it would be updated through and maintained by windows update.

Anyway, as long as it works thanks for sharing.

I don't either, somehow there's an error that occurs and doesn't allow CCC to install.

It does work though.

Thanks! I looked at AMD's own guide, it was bad lol

They should employ you as their instructions writer. :D

lol that would be awesome

Well no one needs technical jargon in instructions. They just want simple, easy-to-understand instructions.

Yeah, and exact ones. Their's were super complicated.

Yep and I am super serious about them employing you as their instructions writer (whatever that position would be called). Obviously whoever is currently doing it doesn't understand that they need to write their instructions in such a way that a grandma could understand it. Not some technically worded instructions just to make them sound intelligent. :P
