7870 fan not working

nekomata

My GPU has been working fine for the past few months, but recently after updating to 14.4, the fans won't spin anymore unless it is set to 100%. I haven't tried reverting back to previous versions of the driver, but I've cleaned the driver and reinstalled it. i've used other PCI-E slots, another power cable, but the problem persists.

The rest of my spec

FX-8350

Biostar TA990FXE

FSP Raider 750w

8GB Corsair Vengeance @1600

Hitachi 1TB

Without the fan working normally, I can't even play osu without reaching 70+, so please, help me find a fix

My Sapphire 7870 did the same thing, those things have a HUGE RMA rate of almost 15%.

I'd RMA the thing as quite frankly there isn't a fix worth trying/voiding your warranty for.

I beleive there were some issues but I think they were on Msi cards only, try another driver version if the problem still occurs rma the card as fast as pssible.

Put that below it, and now you got a kinda OK solution... for now....

I don't have experience with AMD, so that's all I'ma say about that.. Any cords or anything in the way, or... idk... AMD man....

Sadly, I'm not in any position to purchase anything at the moment. Even if I can, the shipping cost to Indonesia doesn't seem to be worth it

Seems like it, this is already the second time something went wrong. I'll try to have it RMA'ed then

The 14.4RC driver only adds support for the 295X2 no ?

Go back to 13.2

I've reverted back to 13.2, but the problem still persists. I'll probably RMA it

I'd RMA it. I've seen hack fixes for fan issues where on a 7970 the fan wouldn't spin and the guy soldered a wire from the fan to the PCB and if you don't know what your doing don't try it at home.

Why do you always die right after I fix you?
