April Haswell Refresh...Nope! Motherboard Manufacturers Pressure Intel To Postpone Haswell Refresh to May

Shortly after my thread posted yesterday claiming Intel could bring Haswell Refresh on April 14th, DigiTimes has posted an article otherwise.

Intel was originally set to release silicon in April, then consecutively release the chipset in May.

Now, motherboard manufacturers have convinced Intel to release all their products in early May.

Hopefully we will see Devil's Canyon (Our OC-geared 4770k improvement, the Refresh silicon, and the Z97 chipset , as well as possibly the Pentium Anniversary Edition CPU all released in early May.

So it looks like those waiting will have to wait even longer, dang it! Good thing I'm not waiting so I'm not bothered by it, but for those who are or were, it kinda sucks.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Would wait for Haswell-E. Refreshes aren't really that big of a difference between the current Haswell. Unless, the refresh can miraculously OC to 5GHz on average. That would be interesting

Better binned chips, more mature process, better TIM (could be solder)

Same here, plan on ditching my A10-6800k for one once they hit the market and benchmarks are done.

Pretty much unless you are an enthusiast (overclocker). The new Devils Canyon SKU is suppose to have better TIM which will allow for higher overclocks than what's capable with Haswell.

If they use solder that could help the thermal issues that we've been having since Intel introduced TIM under the IHS. Tho really the only thing I am eyeballing is the unlocked Pentium.
