Just wondering who is familiar with the music of Nujabes, and if so what similar stuff you got for me?

Unfortunately there is little like him, but there are a few good reproductions, I know a few artists, here u go hombre

Probably one of my favorite artists right now, hopefully she puts out more stuff soon. Kind of falls under glitchy trip though. 

 

If you like artists like Toki I can branch off pretty far with that, Nujabes not much because there's not much like it. 

 

If you're perhaps going for that sort of oriental flare then there's even considerably less. Japan and most of Asia makes (imo) shitty music and typically far from this genre anywhere underground. If it exists it's pretty hard to find.

Then it's not a piece you have to listen to for an entire 1:40

This is the best kind of response one can hope for when creating this type of thread, thanks for posting.

I started with the bottom one and I really like it, I've added it to my YT faves, I will go ahead and listen to the rest and most likely post more music/response to those later in the thread, I'll be sure to tag you in it so you know when it arrives.

 

That first Nujabes track I posted, when it gets to 2min in it just turns into silky bliss IMO.

In the meantime, I did recognize one of the samples from the Tokimonsta track, not sure if you're into this kind of music but it's a really good track if you are.

Nice, I didn't know the original sample for that one, the Malinchak was a bit too clean to be exactly it but that's the only other place I'd heard it.

KAASI track is nice.

Chrome crashed so I had to re-open like 20 windows with a buttload of tabs and videos playing goddamn a goddamn mix from hell     -______________________________-

Majestic always puts out decent stuff, but even Lotus on his own is good.

I kind of wished more people knew about him and that more people tried to do what he did: fuse different genres of music. I don't know others who have similar styles to him. I do, however, like his work on Samurai Champloo. Also, apparently there's 6 hours of Nujabes up on Youtube.

Electus is in my sub box! Love his music, his remix of coldplay's 'Fix You' is my favourite of his, I'll post it here. That remix of Aruarian Dance I hadn't heard before either. :)

I think everyone loved electus so much because his music style was so similiar to Blackmill and Blackmill showed us a side of dubstep we've never heard before and showed it to the masses. Unfortunately Blackmill's been absent for a while, everyone misses his music.. T.T

From those you posted above I'm with you again on the Tokimonsta tracks from the first post, very nice music and she is very cute too!

Also I liked the Saburuko and Chromatics tracks.

 

I agree with you that our tastes in electronic music are a bit mismatched, however not without any nice overlaps to pinch a couple of new artists from, I'm definitely going to explore Tokimonsta's music thoroughly now after this thread.

 

I'll post the album I've listened to the most this last fortnight or so, I only discovered XXYYXX in the last month so it's fresh still, I like the tracks About You, Alone, DMT, Breeze, Forest Fires and TIED2U the most.

I'm amazed that he created this music age 16, this being his second album even! Very talented guy.

And here is what I believe the vocal sample from TIED2U is from, which I also like a lot but is from a very different genre. ;)

 

 

I'm happy to continue and move to another genre if you're up for that? If that sounds good to you maybe you'd like to pick the next genre?

Toki's stuffs interesting, thats the find of the day for me thanks for introducing his music!
