Hey Guys,

So I just watched the "What CPU to Buy" Video and thought to myself, why not ask the community if I may or may not need an Upgrade.

I hope I am in the right Category here.

I updated/upgraded my PC like 2 Years ago. I only bought a Motherboard, a CPU and an AIO Watercooler tho

So I upgraded to an MSI Gaming M5 Z710A and an i5-6600K.

I bought a Graphics card earlier, I think it was 2014. The MSI GTX 560 Ti. I didn't buy a Graphics Card when I bought the other Stuff then, because I just couldn't afford it at that moment.

Then the whole Cryptomining went on and I waited and waited.

I will gonna buy one on Black Friday now and I am still unsure if I want a 1080 or 1070/1070Ti.

So to my Question.

Do I have to upgrade my CPU if I wanna play in 1440p?

I have like The Witcher and Tomb Raider but never played it, because I don't want to play them on low Quality.

I played Battlefield 1 with my Rig and it sucked. I mean, it was running okay with ~30 fps but on all low.

My Budget, if I need to Upgrade would be around 1000€. (I am from Europe)

So let's say the Graphics Card(1070) is 400€, then I had 600€ left.

I have Monitors and all the little things. I mean if I am lucky I might even buy a new Case since I am still rocking the Case of the Acer Aspire G7700. But that's not needed atm.

It's 3:30 am here now, so if there are some Questions I won't be able to respond to them immediately.

I will though in let's say 12-14 hours maybe, depends if I have time when I wake up in 5 hours.

Alrighty, that's it.

PS.: I case you wanna see how my Graphics Card looks like now.

No, your CPU will be fine. You could get more performance with a newer one, but I wouldn't say it'd be worth it.

Just use what you've got now, OC it, and grab something like a 1070. Here they're going quite cheap for Black Friday.
