How to avoid horrible screen tearing with Vega 64 and 1080p monitor.

I have a Vega 64 with an i5-8600k, and I am running a 1080p ultrawide at 75Hz for now, until I get my 1080p 144Hz monitor. If I understand correctly, having a framerate higher than the refresh rate is going to cause tearing. The monitor has freesync however it is obviously useless if the fps is above the refresh rate. How can I best stop this screen tearing. I don't really want to just use a fps limiter as it will have input lag. 

 

Are there normally settings in games that you can turn up that will reduce he fps (by taxing the GPU more, like really high AA)? 

 

Or will a Vega 64 be okay for this? 1080p ultrawide 75Hz is about equivalent to 1080p 100Hz, so is it likely that it won;t be too high on the fps anyway?

Just use AMD Enhance Sync

Is that like FastSync? I remember watching a video about how FastSync introduced stuttering when the fps wasn't a huge amount higher than the refresh rate. Doe the same happen with Enhance Sync? 

 

Also, can you use FreeSync at the same time?

idk, but new drivers should improve this
