So I recently upgraded my whole pc but I'm getting this issue where the CPU is always on 85-100% in gaming and the GPU is on 50-60. This only happens when i lower all my settings, when i have all settings on high the cpu and gpu run at 80-90%. i overclocked the cpu to 4.8GHz but i only gained around 20 fps but it's not enough to even maintain 144 fps stable on most of the games.

this for overwatch  https://prnt.sc/lhi3g2 when it was on low settings , https://prnt.sc/lhi58r this is epic settings. almost same fps from epic to low which doesn't make sense im supposed to cap it at 300 fps and same issue with any other game.

8600k is not a weak CPU.  I'm guessing it's 1080p based on the frame rate.

That high of a frame rate is a stress on your CPU.

^^^. It's probably because it's trying to keep up with a 2080 at 1080p. With my SLI 1080 setup and a 5GHz 8600K, I'll keep about the same framerate (120fps or so) in 1080p ultra and 4K Ultra (with no AA), but the GPU usage scales from 60% on each to 99% or so.

Cuz it’s weak. Upgrade and hope it will do a tad better. Cap the frames more or increase the resolution scale.

At 1080p, I doubt it. It can’t handle a pair of 1080’s on 1440p.

But being a use case, it would be worth a try for me. Or try some other stuff first.

even when i cap the fps at 144 it's still high on usage

that's the lack of hyperthreading on the 8600k, there's a very brief mention of the 8700k/9900k bottlenecking the 2080 ti in certain situations in the initial reviews, but there are some...unlikely requirements for that.

It's a tricky issue with the 8600k, and it's up to you to decide, keep in mind that zen 2 will handily beat a 8086k go toe-to-toe with the 9900k, i suggest working around the minor inconvenience and wait for zen 2.
