USB drive is not detected after failed Windows installation.

I'm formatting right now with diskpart. Hope it works then.

Hey guys,

 

I had a USB drive with Windows on it and my installation crashed because of my cpu problem or whatever it is. 

Since then I can't boot Windows from it again and I can't format it with right-click because the volume is 0kB now instead of 8GB.

Can anyone tell me how to format it again?

You can use "SD card Formatter" from another computer: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ (Should be legit website from the DS card standards authority/group)

 

If the USB does not show at all, try a different slot. Sometimes the USB 3 (green or red) sockets need extra drivers and may not work during the install. The USB 2.0 should be fine.

But does this work with USB drives? It's not an SD card.
