Hi,

I'm looking for an SDI to HDMI adapter. I've looked on eBay and I can see many offerings at different prices so I'm not sure which one to take. eBay links aren't allowed here so I'll ask broader questions.

The point of all this is to capture a video and audio signal from an SDI cable to stream it on YouTube or Facebook. So I can see that some adapters have 2 SDI ports while others have only one. Last time I streamed an event, the adapter I used had 2 SDI ports but I ended using only one of them. So I'm not sure what the second port is for and if I'd need it.

My other question is about the pricing. I can see one with one port at $25, another one with two ports at $35, and then there are some with one or two ports at prices going all the way to $100+. What should I be looking for when picking the adapter?

Thanks

AFAIK, there's multiple SDI speeds, so it depends on what signal your device outputs, is it HD-SDI, Dual HD-SDI, 3G-SDI or 6G-SDI?

Then get a converter that supports the speed your device has.

I don't know these signal standards are, but I might have to work with different people so I'd rather have something with a high compatibility.
