A friend of mine who is working on deep learning told me that his company has an eye on the 2080ti. Pretty much every other deep learning company is planning on buying a ton of the new 2080ti. According to him, in deep learning territory a 2080ti can do things as good as a Titian V, but with only half the price, which makes 2080ti the best card for deep learning. So even after 2080ti is finally available, gamers will have to compete with these companies, just like the fight between gamers and bitcoin miners.

The average gamer can build a entire desktop for the price tag of a 2080 Ti.  If the steam hardware survey is a true reflection of what people are using it shows the majority aren't using these high end cards.  i don't think too many gamers are going to be stressed over a 2080 Ti shortage and for those who are already spending that on a GPU any inflated price probably will go unnoticed.

Well people cried about titan prices for years. Don't see why all of a sudden, a 1k card is a gaming card again because it doesn't say titan on it.

Most wouldn't waste the cash or simply don't want it. Get the card or don't. Just like people crying about miners because it took them 2 years to save up for a card for some reason.

Well, miners are the reasons why someone has to pay 700 USD for a GTX 1070 earlier this year.

They weren't that price for over a year.

Then don't? You could get a 980 Ti for 300ish as miners didn't like Maxwell.

Also whoever gets a 2080 Ti for gaming doesn't need you to feel bad about them
