free backup/imaging software

hi does anyone know any free backup and imaging software the does the backup and the imaging on a schedule( 1 hr,etc)

 

 

windows 10 file history doesn't seem to do its backup on a schedule

WIndows has windows backup and restore windows 7 which will do image and file backups on a schedule

nope, seprate, look in control panel, its called backup and restore windows 7.

Is it reliable, in terms of backing up every hour?

yea it will do it how often you schedule it, give it a try.

the backup will work if I switch to a new pc right?

THe file backups will restore file in the folder you slect, the image probably not, depends on config.

 

But this is a backup solution, not a migration or cloning solution.

the image is for in case my laptop(windows 10) decided to break itself- my laptop is acting weirdly lately(clean install doesn't fix the problem), while my plan for the backup is for easy transfer to a new pc

You can restore the files on your desktop, but its unlikely to get a bootable image.

Well, Macrium Reflect is able to do that, but it have no sense to made backup every hour.
