Upgrade my CPU or GPU now?

Exiled Nephilim

Hey guys, so a while ago I was at work and there was this old dell optiplex 790 COVERED IN OIL AND GREASE (I work at a diesel shop), anyway long story short I got it working and found out it's got a i3 2120 in it. I'm pretty hyped with it because believe it or not, it's the fastest PC I've ever had. I wanted to game on it so I upgraded the RAM to 10 GB and upgraded the GPU to a gt 1030 and the psu to a evga 500W. Fps is pretty decent so far, but I'd like a smoother experience. What should I upgrade? My budget is really low, and I can't buy from anywhere except amazon...

CPU should be good, getting an i5 3570 or 2500 would be good

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

It's pretty balanced imo, maybe you just need an SSD to improve the responsiveness..

you can verify in task manager. If CPU usage is at 100% then that means it's probably holding your graphics card back.

An SSD would be nice.  If you can get a user 3rd or 2nd gen i5 or i7 for cheap would also help. Depending on the games you play. IMHO, the i3 you have is good mainly for eSports titles. Maybe even some older AAA games I guess.
