I currently have an MSI B350m Mortar on bios 1.10 and I was wondering if I should update my bios as my ram and HDD usage seems to be very high. Also, there might be some good new features on a newer bios update that I don't have and know about. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

My specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: MSI B350m Mortar
Memory: Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400 1x8gb
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 3gb
HDD: 1tb Seagate Barracuda
PSU: EVGA 600w white

Unless you actually have a use for those features, don't update the BIOS. And a bad BIOS is not likely to cause high RAM or HDD usage. If anything, the hardware will flatout not work.

RAM usage is RAM usage, just depends on the programs you have open. I normally don’t update a BIOS unless there’s an actually problem with my current BIOS or I run into a situation that recommends reflashing the BIOS. What is using your HDD?

If you have an update, I recommend you do it. It might bring security updates and patches for known problems.

If your RAM and HDD usage is high, that's not because of the BIOS but because of your workload.

I recommend you get firstly an SSD, 128GB if you're on a budget and get 8GB more of RAM later. 8GB in these days is becoming (if it hasn't) the minimum.
