Hi people i am going to upgrade my gaming pc and was wondering if everything looked good, i dont want to upgrade everything just some parts.

I currently have

CPU: i7700k stock

Mobo: asus strix Z270E

Ram: corsair vengence 16gb (unsure on rest of the details)

GPU: asus dual RX480

Storage: samsung 960 evo 500gb and a 1TB HDD

PSU: corsair VS450

The parts i want to upgrade to are

GPU: asus strix RTX 2080

PSU: was thinking something around 750w (any recommendations??)

Ram: possibly but not if i can help it

I also intent to overclock the the CPU and new GPU so not sure what PSU would be needed, I think my motherboard would be fine so i didnt intend on upgrading it.

Also in the near future i want upgrade my pc case as my case does not have any water cooling vents but this is something i want to do in the next year or so.

I play all sorts of games if that makes any difference.

Thanks for any help.

Get rid of that crappy psu quickly, I wouldn't use it anytime soon cause it is known to just blow whenever.  You don't need 750w and a gpu upgrade would probably suit you very well. What is your budget and since you suggested it, would you rather get a newer 2080 or a comparable but probably faster (and a little cheaper) 1080ti?  EDIT: any evga g3, seasonic focus + gold or corsair rmx would be fine

🙂

PSU: 650w tier 3 or higher will do. 9900k when overclocked as much as ambient cooling can support + 2080ti can only draw that much, which means 7700k + 2080 will definitely not go that high.

might want modular cables as well

The 1080ti isn't cheaper any more because of stock issues. Also on average the 2080 is faster not by much but it still is faster.

Depends where you are, and I'll take your word, cause I haven't looked at many rtx benchmarks, just the gist EDIT: and not that it matters for everyone and they have different memory, but the 1080ti has 11gb and the 2080 has 8gb (both of which are plenty)

🙂

Is my psu really that bad lol?? I dont really have a budget. i looked at the 2080ti but i think without spending crazy money on a monitor it would be a waste of time, i looked at the 1080ti but would prefer the 2080 just because its a newer graphics card  and similar price and the benchmarks are roughly the same as the 1080ti.

I think the psu and the gpu upgrade are good choices. 16gb is more than enough for games so unless you need more ram for some other sort of tasks like video editing I would say it is a waste of money.

I only use my pc for gaming, nothing else

It is bad enough that I would recommend nobody buys it. I personally like the rm850x that I have. The rm750x should be basically the same just lower wattage. I like that it's modular and comes with nice looking cables.

Storage: 500GB Samsung 860 EVO, 1TB Western Digital Blue
PSU: Thermaltake Smartpower 750W
Case: Corsair 460x Black
Case Cooling: A mix and match of fans ?
Peripherals:

Monitor: HP 27ea
Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 SE
Mouse: Corsair Glaive Black
Headphones: Corsair HS60
