Can someone explain?

Go to solution Solved by DailyProcrastinator,

Who cares, their stuff performs nearly the same anyways. They aren't seen as a 'premium' brand and that's why they are hating on you but in truth, their GPU's are pretty good from what I've heard. There's nothing wrong with Zotac, they just are associated as a budget option.

I'm starting to get pissed at my classmates, we talked about gaming on pc during break time and we asked a basic question.

"what is your build?" we list out our parts... the minute I say "zotac" they give me shit. Oh MSI is better, oh asus is better, oh EVGA is better, then this "zotac is crap", "zotac is for budget gamers"

Is zotac that bad?

I mean I've been using my zotac gtx 1080 mini, it's quiet, it's not that hot, it's small compact and nice.

Even after overclocking I don't hear any coil whines.

Is there something wrong with zotac cards? Please explain, thank you

I believe Zotac used to kinda be like Hyundai or Kia was for cars. Pretty meh, kinda the laughing stock. Recently (maxwell and newer) they've really stepped up their stuff though. Their Amp Extreme cards are pretty potent, and their regular Amp cards still have great coolers and from what I've heard are plenty good. Also, Ever since my MSI Gaming X 970 basically folded in half I've never liked them that much. Somehow I ended up with a Gaming X 1080 Ti though...

Hyundai!?!? Were they bad? Sorry still 16 can't drive.

Everyone had bad experiences even AMD(especially AMD)

I've been using the zotac's 1080 mini for 2 monthes I leave it on 24/7 at work and use it day and night.

During the day he day I use it for designing and CAD and video editing and at night I leave it mining, it has yet to fail me unlike the rtx 2080ti I got 2weeks ago.... dead as a doornail

Actually the card saved me $75 I put it to a better looking ram(Corsair Vengeance Pro ddr4 3000mhz 16gb cl16).

The Koreans used to make extremely laughable cars. they were prone to massive amounts of rust, they had no power ect ect ect. In the last... 10 or so years they are super tuning it around I was at an age where when I was around your age (lil younger) I would mock Hyundai and kia, most Hyundai case they tied to make a sports car. Now though I would but a couple of them... its not a huge number cause im into sports cars, and they dont do a ton of them. But there are some.

When I can drive I was thinking a pick up or a hummer like my uncle's, I can use for work and transport heavy stuff.

You'd want to get a pickup truck. There's probably way more stuff you could do with a truck rather than a Hummer, and it might still be less expensive.

Anyways, there's nothing wrong with getting a Zotac card. From what I've heard, they've been making really good graphics cards for the past few generations.

I will be straight up and say at 16 you are going to be getting whatever you can afford to keep running. Unless you are lucky and have very generous parents insurance is going to kill you and you will be lucky to get away with 200 a month, I was quoted something like $470 a month for a 1990 ish Volvo sedan a few years back, these people are crooks, and that is just insurance, don't forget gas, maintenance possible parking ect ect ect.

Hummers are... quite honestly seen as a gaudy joke today. The h1 was designed with a purpose, the h2 and 3 are soccer mom suvs with a more "tough" styling. And still cost as much (nearly) as a cheap new car which you would be VASTLY better off with since you get a warranty with that.

On top of that, I think you are lucky to get something like 11mpg on an h2 hummer, and they will not be very good for work purposes anyways they are tall and that enclosed bed wont help you, that height will do you 0 favours when it comes to loading those things up.

Do you even need a truck? A compact is probably gonna be much better on fuel... but anyways if you do a used F150 Ram Silverado or Tacoma will be infinitly better, and cheaper than a hummer.

I was more of thinking using one of my uncle's company trucks he's got 3 of them, I've asked him for permission he says only if I pass my driver's license with no less then a B+
