Ok this is an update to my post yesterday. My power cable melted where it connect to the power outlet. And worried that it might be a possible on the power supply then I took it to a local computer repair shop and he said that it is just the power cable since my computer boot without any problem. But the thing is he didn't take the psu appart or diassembled it. Can they really know it just by doing that?oh and ill add the image on the melted part.

i'd be kind of worried your house breaker didn't trip before that happened

We did turn off our breaker but it was about 2weeks ago when this happened and I also unplug all conections in the power outlet before turning off the breaker.

That's normal if the Plug is of low quality or the outlet old and corroded.

Wich is why I replaced a couple of outlets in my house as well.

Because I've taken the Plug of something in there out and touched it. Was quite hot. Wich means there is a problem.

And bought a new Busch-Jäger Outlet.

But from afar it might look like the connection in the Cable could have been bad...

Wich means you replace everything involved!

The Cord is something for the dumpster.

But the outlet must be replaced as well!

There is no way around it. You must NOT USE THAT OUTLET UNTIL IT IS REPLACED!

Because it has been damaged by the cable.

They can't do more than you because you need a couple of thousand € Hardware to test it.
And even then, it might not show but the PSU might still be damaged.
In the sense that it might die sooner than without this isse.

Because its a high resistance thingy, since you already live in a low voltage area, the votage would have dropped a bit further, wich increased the stress of the PFC...

What PSU did you use??

Anyway, buttom line is:

Outlet needs to be replaced!

I love all these posts with just "power supply" in the subject.

I expect to come in here one day and see nothing but "power supply" for every post talking about power supplies.  :D

Anyhoo..... As Stefan asked:  What PSU was it?  Some have better protections than others.

Also noticed that the plug doesn't have a ground pin.  Maybe that's why the breaker didn't trip itself?  Make sure the replacement power cord has adequate gauge wire AND a proper earth ground.
