PC turns on but nothing displays

Hello, I salvaged a gt 405 from another PC and installed it in this PC as a video adapter because plugging a VGA cable into the onboard VGA port didn't work. I tried it this time with the gt 405 but it still didn't work. When the gt 405 was in the other PC that I salvaged it from it worked perfectly, could anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Did you check motherboard support? Maybe test it in the old pc see if it still works. You never know how fragile something can be.

 

My PC is a fast boyo:

6700K - 32GB - 1080 - 256GB EVO
