M.2 socket temperatures - Prime Z370-A vs. ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming vs. ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC)

I'm having trouble choosing a motherboard. Where can I see the differences in temperature between these motherboards.

As long as there is a fan pushing air over the area (like a front intake fan), you shouldn't need to worry about that. All 3 of them have one covered M.2 socket also. I would worry more about stuff like features and power phases really.

My Build, v2.1 --- CPU: i7-8700K @ 5.2GHz/1.288v || MoBo: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E Gaming || RAM: 4x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 2666 14-14-14-33 || Cooler: Custom Loop || GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC Black, on water || PSU: EVGA G2 850W || Case: Corsair 450D || SSD: 850 Evo 250GB, Intel 660p 2TB || Storage: WD Blue 2TB || G502 & Glorious PCGR Fully Custom 80% Keyboard || MX34VQ, PG278Q, PB278Q

Audio --- Headphones: Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX || Amp: Schiit Audio Magni 3 || DAC: Schiit Audio Modi 3 || Mic: Blue Yeti

[Under Construction]

My Truck --- 2002 F-350 7.3 Powerstroke || 6-speed

My Car --- 2006 Mustang GT || 5-speed || BBK LTs, O/R X, MBRP Cat-back || BBK Lowering Springs, LCAs || 2007 GT500 wheels w/ 245s/285s

The Experiment --- CPU: i5-3570K @ 4.0 GHz || MoBo: Asus P8Z77-V LK || RAM: 16GB Corsair 1600 4x4 || Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo || GPUs: Asus GTX 750 Ti, || PSU: Corsair TX750M Gold || Case: Thermaltake Core G21 TG || SSD: 840 Pro 128GB || HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

R.I.P. Asus X99-A motherboard, April 2016 - October 2018, may you rest in peace. 5820K, if I ever buy you a new board, it'll be a good one.

M.2 slots shouldn't need cooling. Just airflow. If you really want cooling, here.

Image result for m.2 watercooling

^ (that's an M.2 slot waterblock)

There are M.2 heatsinks that sell for less than $20 though.

Thanks, was not aware of those, I'll definitely be using one if I make a water cooling build.

It's my first time trying to build a PC. After deciding that I wanted to build a PC with good noise and thermal performance in mind, it became easier to choose the parts but when it came the motherboard it was another story.

As I understand it, I have the Prime Z370-A with the basic stuff. Then if I want integrated bluetooth, I have the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming. After that there's the ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC). And if I want water cooling, there's the ROG Maximus X Code and the ROG Maximus X Formula.

Because the main reason that I'm thinking about the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming is the Prime Z370-A having no integrated bluetooth,

I'm considering the Prime Z370-A + PCE-AC55BT vs. the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming.

And because the differences between the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming and the ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) are not clear to me,

I'm considering the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming vs. the ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC).

Since I'm considering using a M.2 SSD, I decided that cooling would be the deciding factor.
