Realtek and Microsoft Audio alternatives

Cjhalgmad

So I've had some issues with my XPS 13 recently with the cursor being jumpy so I decided to reinstall window and begin a new. Recently I updated my audio drivers back to realtek and I found that these drivers are what's causing the jumpy cursor. So I was wondering if there are any good alternatives to realtek or Microsoft High Def Audio (MDHA has too much static when headphones are plugged in for my liking).

Thank you.

Since you have a laptop, that's not an option. If you had a desktop, you could throw in a sound card and call it a day;  but laptops don't have that ability.

Your best bet is to downgrade the audio drivers and see if that fixes your jumpy cursour

Is the XP13 a desktop? If so, before I jumped onto the external sound-card bandwagon, I had success plugging headphones & integrated microphones to the back panel (I remember Linus commenting on that in an early LTT episode) of my HP Deskpro 6000. I suspect there’s less electromagnetic interference at the back... it’s worth a shot.
