More like Windows 7 without-Aero-enable-to-get-the-classic-XP-styling, really? That could be your issue as windows can be picky about window graphics when aero is not on in windows 7. Especially if it is a newer GFX driver. I would try re-enabling Aero through personalization and see if that makes a difference
