Over the night, I kept it on to downloading some games and I also had CPUID on as well, when I came back this morning, I saw the max it hit was 84C on the stock cooler.

I know the stock cooler isn't the best but hitting 84C on it while idling isn't very ideal.

There has to be something wrong with the cooler of it isn't doing a good job. I would say try resetting the cooler or buy a new cooler. 84c idle should never happen

IS this temp the maximum temp it reached like Nsyedhasan kinda said

i think this could be a false reading but i could be wrong. are you using the stock thermal paste? what was your max load temp before you left it over night to download? what case do you have and how many fans have you got?

It could have just been a spike or a miss reading by the program. What are your average temps? Does it stay at 84c or was that just the max?

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

Yup, using the pre applied thermal paste that was on there, case is an enermax ostrong, 1 case fan located by the CPU.

Average temperatures are around 45-60C, when I woke up, I found it at 54C.

Also got to install prime95 in order to find out load temp's.

It also gets more weird, the MSI BIOS reads the temperature of the CPU as about 44C for idling, it also makes the heatsink fan ramp up in order to prevent the CPU from hitting 70C but I haven't heard the fan ramp up, even while gaming.

then if doesn`t ramps up. you would know when an amd cooler speeds up,it gets pretty noisy. so how is temperature in prime95
