What CPU should i get for RTX 2070 at 1440p 60Hz?

Edit: You'll want an i5 8600k minimum, preferably 8700k or 9700k (all overclocked) for 144Hz, if you really plan on doing so. If you decide to stick to 60Hz, R5 2600.

I recently ordered an RTX 2070 and I'm wondering what CPU I should get. I have a 1440p 60Hz monitor, but I'm probably going to get a 1440p 144Hz panel in the future. The pc will be used for gaming.

Depends on what types of games you are going to play. 1440p at 144hz is is quite much on some games like Pubg, WoW etc

Well, the most demanding would probably be like black ops 4, cyberpunk and total war.

He mentioned that he is probably upgrading to 1440p 144hz later on, so I dont see those mid-range cpus an option. But thats my opinion :D
