Nope that’s a good combination

Budget CPU +budget GPU is usually a great of combo. My friend has a 4570 and a 1050 ti and it runs great, so I'm sure that combo would be similar.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

You could go up to 1060 and get good performance but I agree with Cereal - price to performance and no bottlenecking.

You wouldn't have any problems with that combination.

 

You could go up to a 1070 before starting to have bottlenecking issues.

Hmm, actually not really, it would start bottlenecking in a few games even with a 1060. I had myself a 2500k at 4.5GHz and it would bottleneck my 970, and even stock the 2500k is better than the 3470.

 

The GTX 1050 Ti is the perfect pairing for this CPU IMO.

You may have stretched it a bit too much.

 

GTX 1060 3gb is the bottlenecking limit, specially at the expected resolution of 1080p.

 

The i5 3470 operates at 3.3ghz all cores frequency being the very first 22nm generation... we got to the point, you might remember, the GTX 1070 was already seeing in selected cases a bottleneck by the i5 7600K due to the 4c/4t configuration alone.

 

The 3470 being so much slower single thread wise will only worsen it noticeable.
