windows 10 pinned to taskbar apps

 hello guys, why do pinned apps in taskbar disappear when i opeen the app? is there a way to change this so the pinned icon stays there even tho the app is alredy opened?

i am askign this because i have for example virtualbox icon there and when i have one VM open i do not have the icon there

the icon is replaced by the program, because it is running. If you need to run another instance of it, press and hold on the Shift key and click on it. If teh app supports multiple instances, that it, else it will just focus the selected app. This is how the task bar works since Windows 7.

 

If you want to have icon there, Vista and older version of Windows, you can right-click on the taskbar, pick "Taskbars" , then go under "toolbars", then "New toolbar", then pick a folder where you want to put program shortcuts, and put program shortcuts in there.
