With the first generation MBs, the memory support sucked. The particular MB I got did not like going up to 3200MHz. Fortunately even though it was undervolted at 1.2V, it is stable at 2933MHz. The XMP Profile puts it at 3200MHz as its rated for and just failed to boot, your use may vary though and your MB may have better luck.

Getting a new MB would definitely make your life easier.

If I got a new b450 or x470 motherboard, would I use XMP or undervolt?

Get a good b450 motherboard or you can get any x470 motherboard.

I don't think I can afford x470. Are either of these motherboards good?

The ASrock is a bit better than the ASUS board. VRM is just a bit better.

The asrock is cheaper anyway so I will look into getting that motherboard. Thank you.

Also could you help me with the graphics card? I prefer the look of the following graphics cards over the gigabyte. Are either of them as good as the gigabyte or should I just get the gigabyte?

@Zenyatta
The MSI one is probably gonna be the best of the 3 just because of the large cooling solution, larger is usually better just because heat dissipation is based on surface area.. But make sure that it will fit, its a very large and long card. Just picked the Gigabyte because of price.

I think the evga option is the best. Great company behind it and it's there top one of their top models. And for the motherboard both those b450 motherboards are good and will make a good pair with a r5 2600.
