Assuming it's not a GTX 580 lol

I wouldn't upgrade, considering how much you're spending on a new graphics card it's not a great amount of extra performance.

Like if you were to wait for a short while you'd get much better performance once new cards come out.

I'd just save up and upgrade the entire rig next year. If you don't have things like an SSD, that'd be a great thing to pick up on Black Friday. Maybe another 8GB of RAM, or a 16GB kit if yours is on the slow side. Then when Zen 2 comes out compare AMD and Intel's offerings and go from there. Really, the CPU you have isn't that great, but neither is the video card, so upgrading the supporting pieces makes more sense then the core components.

The 6400 should hold up well in 1080p when paired with a good GPU. 1050ti won't be running the newest titles with ultra graphics at 1080p smoothly, so a 1060 would be a good choice. In the end I think the 1050 ti does provide good enough performance to play games at 60fps, you just need to play them at medium and that it isn't worth it to buy a new one.

My stuff:

I play PUBG, Guild wars 2 and Fortnite.

PUBG on medium 50-70

Fortnife on high 80+

GW2 40-60

I have a 60hz 23.6 inch monitor but upgrading it is pretty much a no go since my desk is so tiny

Isn’t AMD a good choice since they are cheaper?

If you get that framerate and you only play those games, why do you need to upgrade anything?
Not like you'll game better with a game running at 200fps on a 60hz monitor.

At most, maybe get an SSD if you don't already have one and just wait until the new CPUs/GPUs come out next year.

Sorry, I don't know about AMD graphics cards. Haven't taken a look yet.

The cheapest vega card in Finland costs 529 euros, it's the RX Vega 56 and apparently it has about the same performance as 1070. The cheapest full-sized 1070 in Finland costs 489€. The budget cards might not be available yet so you're better off waiting.

Also if you have a 60hz monitor and get 60fps in most games I don't think it's a good idea to upgrade.
