I have a ton of gigabit network switches in my network an one of my computer is attached to that switch. My normal speed is 200 Mbps but when I place a router in between my modem and switch(which goes to computer) speed becomes 100 Mbps max. It might be because my router has 100 mbps port but I dont want to use router to route my packages, my modem can do same without it. My router only has to extend wifi network (which I did by making it broadcast same SSID with same password) and nothing else. How can I prevent router to limit internet speed in that computer.

The 100mbps ports are whats limiting your speed.

Here's your solution: put the switch back on the modem and keep your PC on the switch. Then put the router on the switch.

By putting the router into the modem, and then the switch into your router, you modified the network backbone. If you put the router on the switch, you are merely adding another device to the network (much like plugging another PC into the switch).

This really doesn't make sense.  The whole point of a Switch is what's plugged into one port should have absolutely zero impact on what is happening on another.

Are you sure the computer isn't accidentally connecting to that routers WiFi?

Yes because my computer doesnt support wifi :D

I made it act like access point, and broadcast same SSID and password as the modem.

Is that causing problems?
