Hi,

Recently I ran AIDA64 stressed test on my pc and I noticed that the temperature of the GPU was going high. I checked in CPUID HWMonitor that my case fans were not running at full speed even at higher temperature, but the CPU fan was running at nearly full speed(2800-3000 rpm). Then I went to BIOS setup of my motherboard (GIGABYTE Gaming B8) and changed speed settings of my case fans using "Smart Fan 5". I did not change any settings of my CPU cooling fan.

When I again ran the stress test, case fans were spinning at higher speed but the CPU fan was not running at a higher speed (near 2000 rpm). This time my GPU temperature was ok but CPU temperature was going high (around 85C).

Currently the CPU fan is set to run at 100% at 65C but it spins at 2000-2200 rpm even at 70C (it is a 3000 rpm fan). And the other fans also do not seem to follow the setup of their speed. Even if they are set go at 100% at a lower temperature, their speed increases very slowly and at a higher temperature. But changing the settings from the BIOS seems to affect the fan speed but not completely.

[PS: I have installed SpeedFan, but it does not detect any of my fans]

My all fans are 3 pin voltage controlled fans.

Have you made sure the fan is using the correct temperature sensor? IE maybe the cpu is 65c but the fan is using say a motherboard sensor that is only 50c.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

What cooler and fans are you using?

Was SpeedFan running when testing for rpm?

Double check to see which header the cpu fan is plugged into.
