I5 9600k

So I was on Amazon adding the 8600k to my cart to buy it later this week and a pop up came up advertising the 9600k for almost 30gbp cheaper then the 8600k. Would I be better off with the 9600k? I heard there's not much of a difference between the two.

It says the 9600k won't be shipped until the 31st of October but I don't mind waiting if the CPU is worth it

get the 9600k. cheaper, better thermals. 10-19% performance synthetically & with multi-threading

Only thing is it's from Amazon.com as opposed to .co.uk which I Normally use as I'm in Ireland and I'm afraid of getting hit with import charges when it gets to the country especially considering it's a computer component

Depends what your duties are. The 9600k is still a better chip.

Straight up gaming, very light streaming and a bit for school work here and there. I have a 4460 and a 1060 at the moment and I'd just like to upgrade my pc both aesthetically and performance wise

I mean they're close to each other, so if the 8600k is going to be significantly cheaper in the end then I'd go for it. Realistically, I doubt you'd notice the difference between the two in day to day operations. It's not like we're talking 7600k vs 9600k.

The the 8th gen i5s didn’t have hyper threading either though

After all this I've decided to go with the 8700k for an extra 40 euro. $370(340€)

I hope so, total came to about 400 with custom tax and it should be arriving next week, pretty excited
