I5 9600k

So I was on Amazon adding the 8600k to my cart to buy it later this week and a pop up came up advertising the 9600k for almost 30gbp cheaper then the 8600k. Would I be better off with the 9600k? I heard there's not much of a difference between the two.

Intel Core i5 9600K Unlocked 9th Gen Desktop Processor/CPU Retail https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HHLX1R8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YGh0Bb9ZTXXAQ

Intel BX80684I58600K 8th Gen Core i5-8600K Processor https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0759FKH8K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wHh0BbYGT2PE9

It says the 9600k won't be shipped until the 31st of October but I don't mind waiting if the CPU is worth it

Yes.

Only thing is it's from Amazon.com as opposed to .co.uk which I Normally use as I'm in Ireland and I'm afraid of getting hit with import charges when it gets to the country especially considering it's a computer component

LoL. Something you probably should have included in the OP ;)

Depends what your duties are. The 9600k is still a better chip.

Straight up gaming, very light streaming and a bit for school work here and there. I have a 4460 and a 1060 at the moment and I'd just like to upgrade my pc both aesthetically and performance wise

I mean they're close to each other, so if the 8600k is going to be significantly cheaper in the end then I'd go for it. Realistically, I doubt you'd notice the difference between the two in day to day operations. It's not like we're talking 7600k vs 9600k.

After all this I've decided to go with the 8700k for an extra 40 euro. $370(340€)

I'd say that's money well spent.
