New mice, not built like they used to?

Majestic

So I have this old Logitech G5 that still works but when keeping the RMB pressed it sometimes loses signal which makes manouvering in WoW a little inconsistent.

I have have a Zowie AM in the meantime but the coating quickly became crappy (you could see the wear marks on the soft coating). Meanwhile the coating on my G5 is still perfect after 13 years of use.

I was looking for new mice but for every mouse I look the use the same damn black coating that after one month of use starts to show signs of shining. What gives, have they stopped building mice with decent coatings?

Anyone know a mouse that is suited for gaming but doesn't have this terrible black soft coating?
