Hi guys, my friend was on the way to building his first build but accidentally dropped his GPU onto a hardwood floor when taking it out of the packaging.
The result was a small part of the PCB breaking off near the power connector (see image)

I'm posting this thread so he can decide if he should wait for his other parts so he can test the GPU himself, or order a new GPU in earnest.

He doesn't have a PC to test the card in (his other parts won't be arriving for a few weeks), so I am wondering if anybody can shed some light on if it even has a chance of working.
The exact card is the ASUS 1060 3GB DUAL

I'd honestly say it doesn't matter as there's not a lot going on in that area and the power connector itself is still okay.

Don't quote me on that though, maybe @manikyath has an idea.

The power LED is probably done for, but the card should still work fine.

Also, why would you include a poll for this?

To me, this looks like it should work, The SMDs (LED I think) that are there may be toast though.

If someone has helped you out on the forum don't forget to give them a reaction to say thank you!

To easily gauge the opinion of the members of this board such that I can help my friend make a reasonable decision.

i'd risk it, maybe check the resistance between +12v and ground on the connector, and if it's not a dead short it's probably just fine, aside from maybe the "power is here LED"
