Im heading to college for an Information Systems degree in January  and I am looking at getting a new laptop to take to classes and to the library. I want to spend about 1600 dollars (Usd) and I don't really need a gpu in it since I'm not gaming on it. I'd like to get a laptop that is no bigger than 13 inches so I can comfortably use it on those crappy "desks" in lecture halls. I was thinking between either the Razerblade Stealth (256gb) for about 1349 at the Microsoft store (price matching and education discounts ftw) or the late 2018 Macbook pro for 1600 (ish). I'm looking at these two because of the build quality, keyboards (I actually went into Bestbuy to try them out) and the display.

I'm open to other suggestions but I don't really want a 2 in 1 or a surface pro because I prefer a laptop and a sturdy typing area

And yes I know 1600 bucks for a laptop for business school is overkill but I want this to last me for a long time

I will warn you macbook keyboards are currently very vulnerable to dust and are expensive to replace.

I heard that the newer ones are less prone to that issue :/ and either way im getting the warranty from bestbuy on either one, or apple care if they cover more stuff than best buy

How about the HP Spectre X360, or the LG gram?

I've thought about the Lg Gram (I'm actually watching a review on it right now lol), and I think I'm going to pass on the Hp Spectre. Mainly cause I've had an HP laptop before that I got 3 years ago and it might've been since I didn't spend that much on it, I think about 800-900 at most, and I didn't have the best experience with it

Whelp can't help that, but I would still recommend considering the spectre as it is fine laptop, (and it's a 2 in 1) but if you would rather not go that route the gram is also a fine laptop.

Battery life and display tbh, although I dont think I'm going to have class immediately after another one so I can go to the library and charge it, and I think I might be able to get a decent battery bank to charge as well?

So you don't mind poor battery life? Do you need good keyboard/touchpad?

I mean to me 5+ hours of actual use is more than enough for me cause I'm the worst at trying to conserve battery life. Yes I want a good keyboard, trackpad would be nice but I might be getting a mouse to use with it
