Yes. Yes you shoud absolutely install Magician and update the drive. It will do you good :)

Right now I'm using a Samsung 840 Evo 120 gb SSD and was wondering if I should install the new firmware as well as Samung's Magician software? I'm not to sure about upgrading any help needed.

The new firmware has a few performance tweaks. Nothing wrong with upgrading.

You should install it. Updated my 840 before with Magician and it went smoothly with no problems.
