Curved or flatscreen

I was looking around and I found the Samsung CFG70 and this is a curved 144hz 1ms display but I was originally going to buy an Asus         VQ248QE the asus is also 144hz and 1ms but £60 cheaper I don’t know if a curved display is an improvement. I will be primarily use it for gaming and a little schoolwork Plz help!

curved displays aren't an improvement imo. i got a curved panel and a flat one. i actually prefer the flat one.

some straight lines might look bend if you don't look at your screen right infront of your eyes but a bit higher/lower, then the lines get bend

I like my monitors like I like my women... curved.

 

Honestly I do, it's more immersive and expands my FOV to my peripheral vision more.  

 

Glen has a point tho, so something to decide if you care about or not.

My comment was in regard to gaming, but also for watching movies on as well.  Then again, the LG 70" upscales my downloaded movies so I watch them there.

I'm pretty sure the only benefit of having a curved display is a more immersive experience, so for 60 euros more, I would stick with flat

Doesn't matter from a performance standpoint.  If used is 50% of new price, get it. If not, look at new.

In my experience curved monitors are useless unless they are ultrawide, I personally don't think a 1920x1080 monitor makes any sense as a flat screen, it doesn't feel immersive it creates weird viewing angles. I would recommend the Asus monitor, I have the same one and it has been great.
