ribbon connector snapped off of board!

dtr146

I have and older HP zbook and the ribbon connector for the power button broke off. it seems like a pretty clean break but there's one thing. the connections on the board are a dark brown coller and not silver like solder. i looked at the bottom of the connector and the pins have the same dark brown on them. is this even fixable? if you need pics just ask.

Sounds like it could be rust. Cleaning it off and resoldering is probably the best path. Pictures would help though, if you don't think it looks like rust.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I work on laptops myself but I'm no good at soldering. I think it's really bad placement for this ribbon connector it's right beside the processor and this thing gets really toasty.
