PC new power supply wont power mobo or fans but front led turns on

sorry fir long title first and foremost

 

now, I am trouble shooting a old pc for my dad its a Compact presario Sr526nx the only thing he has changed befor was the hard drive to a ssd. after a thunderstorm it wouldn’t turn on the power supply was completely dead so i replaced it and powered it on with some success the led light turn on the computer in front of the case but it seems there is no power to the mobo no fans, no led lights inside, and no display. I have triple checked everything with the wires.

Possibly there was a power line surge which fried your PSU.

On a cheesy old pre-built, the PSU may not have good internal protection and your MB may be fried too.

 

UPS is what I use ever since lightning came in over the phone line and zapped my 2880 modem and MB.

hey i replaced the mb and boom bot dink! it’s working!
