There's a software called "different SLI auto" that lets you cheese SLI via the motherboard. Works pretty well, you should check it out.

Where you could connect the SLI bridge - Or is the newest things they do (not including NVLINK) like AMD with the chipset being able to perform the card coupling?

I googled and still don't know what I'm looking for exactly? Is it the connection at the pci area furthest from the display outputs?

It's the leads opposite from the PCIe. So say the PCIe is on the bottom, the SLI fingers are on top. They're on the 1070 and higher for the Pascal generation.

Or maybe OP should be looking into it more than anyone? If someone doesn't know anything about SLI, maybe they ought to learn about it. Sure it's not a great technology but it still helps to know what it is and how it works.

nVidia designed the GTX 1060, so it CANNOT run in SLI.

If you buy a "unbranded" / *FAKE* Chinese GTX 1060, well...it isn't even a REAL GTX 1060.

I think OP was referring to the "off brand" Chinese cards Linus purchased off Aliexpress. In which case, the SLI Vram amount would drop to the lower number.

Regardless, even the Chinese exclusive GTX 1060 5GB does not support SLI.

For SLI to be allowed in the software, the VRAM on the GPUs MUST match -- it is restricted in the drivers.

Even if you found some way to make it work dont bother, I say this as a formal SLI user, SLI offers very inconsistent performance increases, and frankly, SLI for gaming at least makes no sense unless the best on the market isnt good enough already. It doesnt make sense for lesser cards, you will be spending more or close to another tier card and frequently have worse FPS than if you just got the better card in the 1st place.

Like I said earlier, there's a fun little software hack that lets you SLI any cards via the motherboard, even 2 different graphics cards. Fun little experiment even if it doesn't really have much practicality
