Headphone Detachable cable mod

I just posted my mod in the "describe your audio setup" thread..

I did mine out of necessity of having to trash my DT990s if I couldn't get the cable to work but when I did it it was just bonding the grounds and figuring out which connector was left and right channels then soldering the new wire onto them and then getting the wire into the 3.5mm connector.

The hardest part was figuring out how to get the connector to fit. I ended up dremmeling the housing out to get it to fit between the headphone speaker and the material behind it.

When I got into the headphone there were 3 soldering posts that the original wire went to on the headphone speaker itself. I just had to figure out which one was left channel, right channel, and ground. Then soldered the new wire onto those and ran them to the connector.

I wish there were a step by step guide and I was going to film me doing it but my footage got trashed in the process and it wasn't something I was going to be able to just redo because of the gel glue. The other challenge is not every headphone is going to be the same i'm sure.
