Doesn't include the case you selected but is a really powerful and quiet gamer. Stock cpu cooler because I couldn't seem to add one to the shopping cart.

For a budget like that, it's obvious we're going with Intel + nVidia.

well you can put a high end intel cpu with a high end amd gpu .... or Amd cpu with a high end Nvidia gpu... you can go several ways a high end system doesnt mean Intel + Nvidia

Insomnia!

AMD CPUs are just horrible. AMD GPUs are very loud and consume a lot of power not to mention extremely expensive due to coin mining

Why don't you go to their site, pick out a case, and we can go from there?
That way it'll be easier to factor in the rest. Perhaps the keyboard and mouse as well. They're all rather personal preference things.

You sure you want a 1440p monitor? They're usually a fair bit more than a 1080p and will be more taxing when it comes to getting high fps.

If that's an issue for you.

Since the new R9 line was released, prices remain the same. HERE IN EUROPE.

Mining is NOT a thing here in Portugal. So AMD is a way better option over Nvidia.

He's on a $2500 budget. Do you seriously want to get him a 1080p monitor with that amount of cash? There's no point in getting SLI 780ti on 1080p lmao

The Corsair Obsidian 750D caught my atttention, also the Fractal design R4 looks nice, I am not that familiar in the monitor world, so if u say 144hz is better for my price range, I will believe you fully.

Just because he CAN spend that much, doesn't mean he has to. Maybe he needs a lot of storage, and the money will go to that? Maybe he doesn't want SLI?

Or, an even more important point, maybe he doesn't want a 27" monitor. We haven't gotten that far yet. Let's not jump to conclusions ;)

So, for hard drives...any needs?

Do you want one, two or three? Personally I go with one for OS, one for games, and one for mass storage. Others consider that overkill.

As far as hard drives go, I was thinking about as what u said. A SSD for OS and some games (so like 256gb) and one hard disk for mass storage (1tb is way enough).

I should have put this all into one post.

Are you just gaming on it, or will you use it for editing or rendering or anything like that?

Do you want 8,16 or 32 gigs of RAM? 8 is fine, 16 is nice (some call it overkill), 32 is just to measure epeen/render.

Do you have a monitor size preference? the 1440p will cost you 570 euro, where as a 24" would be a couple hundred less. Ish.

Do you need speakers?

Do you want to go SLI?

Also, I didn't see the 750D on their website, did I just miss it?

Mainly gaming, I probably won't use any rendering or editing programs on it.

16GB is being recommend by some of my friends, and looks the best too in my opinion.

I have no monitor size preference, and in that case I will not choose for the 1440p.

I don't need any speakers, and SLI is not the way I was thinking of.

$1845. It's in euro not dollar, I just don't have a way to easily put that in.

The monitors, the first two are IPS, the third is an inch bigger and TN. TN has faster response times and possibly less ghosting, IPS has better color and viewing angles. TN panel is $210.

You might not need a CPU cooler if you don't plan to overclock and the CPU comes with one (I can't recall if the i5 does). So you can save that $35, or keep it in for cool looks.

I just ball parked the price of the mouse/keyboard so you have some flexibility there to cover the OS.

If it's a little tight, you can drop down to 8GB of RAM and save yourself $70.
