Ages ago when I updated to windows 10, my computer started having this issue where after 10 minutes or so, it would freeze. I would still be able to move the mouse but I couldn't select anything and they keyboard wouldn't work. I tried different ram sticks and a different SSD and the issue persisted. Recently, I loaded Ubuntu onto a usb and installed it onto the SSD and it worked fine with no issues; however when I re-installed windows 10 into the same SSD, it would freeze again. I had another computer lying around and it had an HDD with windows 10 already on it, I plugged that in and it worked fine with no issues. Both of the SSDs that I have tried in the computer work fine in my other computer with windows 10 installed but not on the one I want. I have reset BIOS, tried different windows usb installers, and used a plethora of cmd tools from a windows repair usb. I have also checked the CPU temperatures and they are all normal around the time that the computer freezes.

So in summary:

It works with an HDD

Works with SSD on Linux
