Stuck at 60fps

hello everyone, so im having issues with my gtx 1080 i  cant get it to go above 60fps. i have went into windows game bar and turned off fullscreen optimization, turned off vsync in Nvidia Control Panel, and turned off vsync in the game as well. but all my games still play at 60fps. my screen only puts out 60Hz but i like to see my performance overhead. so if anyone knows any fixes that would be great

one other thing i tried was starting the game, opening task manager and going into the compatibility properties of the game and disabling fullscreen optimization in there as well but still no luck

but thats not the issue as ive had other cards play games at higher fps on this same TV

Have you checked Nvidia control panel

Make sure game settings are not capping FPS. Try closing out of any drivers that might be causing a bug or cap.

I've had this issue many times but restoring game defaults and changing setting again and restarting the pc fixed it

ive never had this issue until i switched to an Nvidia card. so im thinking it has to do with the card itself and one of its bullshit settings that can tbe turned off using normal channels

or removing old AMD driveres or software with DDU

old drivers are removed for sure.

im guessing adaptive sync is off in 3D setting?

i dont know. since i upgraded to this card i havent had over 60fps. my old amd would play at over 60 but this one never did

try uninstalling anniversary update if it allows you

Except your computer and your brain can still sample from the reduced input latency below the 16.6ms lock that 60fps holds to...
If I'm pushing higher FPS, on 60hz panels, my inputs still get to the computer at faster millisecond sample rates,..even half of the Vsync refresh, and inputs do benefit, and the brain can figure it out.

 

Most ignore tearing and disable Vsync, due to this Input sensitivity. Others use Vsync to negate higher operating temps with reduced GPU usages and also likely hate tearing, and don't mind the small delays that 16.6ms provides.

Better still using Vsync on Monitors with 75-140hz and using less milliseconds, but off is still faster to your brain
