Upgrade (downgrade) or not?

So long story short, I had the chance and bought from a friend an Asus MX27UQ 4K 60Hz monitor, practically for free considering its original price. And it really is a great monitor. But my PC (1070ti, i7 4790, 16GB Ram) ain't your typical 4K gaming monitor. Since I am not going to change my PC anytime soon, but I am a gamer, I decided to go for a 2K IPS G-sync 144Hz monitor, which suits better my overall rig. The two obvious choices I came were the following:

Asus PG279Q

Acer XB271HU

AOC AG271QG

At this point the above are stated as the absolute best 2k IPS 144Hz monitors, with certain pros and cons each. But they are expensive. So, I dug up this monitor:

Acer XB270HU along with Linus' video from 2015

Since this monitor has all I need and it's almost 300€ cheaper than the rest, is this really worth going for a newer model? Are the differences so damn noticeable, that justify me spending almost 40% more for a newer model? Any thoughts are welcome, thanks in advance.

Edit: Moreover, is G-Sync worth it? I mean if I get a "simple" 144Hz monitor, with the vsync options in Nvidia control center, I will get a smooth experience anyway, maybe not so smooth like a G-Sync one but a lot cheaper at least.

You're going to have trouble pushing AAA titles at max graphics with a 1070ti.  The other three monitors you've listed are actually 165hz monitors.  Since you're going to struggle to push 144hz I'd recommend G-Sync.  The older model is fine for what you're after.

OK, I get that G-Sync will completely sync my fps with the monitor's refresh rate, but what if I use adaptive V-Sync for example to make things better? Anything to save some money :) I would very much like to find a nice full HD, IPS, 144Hz monitor to make things easier for my 1070ti but I don't seem to find many nowadays all of them have TN panels...
