windows file security settings

i have a large media drive available on our network at home and i want to make shore people dont delete things so if i remove "modify" permissions does that still allow them to add new files but not remove existing ones?

 

i found the link below after googling it witch dident help much

If you disallow "modify" permissions, then people can only view the folder and cannot add/remove files.
