1080 Ti ROG strix vs zotac amp extreme core?

I ran DDU again, in safe mode this time. Got much more stable results and it wont crash when I OC it to 1972mhz. My temps while gaming are between 65-72c. I've put a pretty aggressive fun curve just to test if it helps. I even tried to force 100% fan speed and achieve 2000+ mhz clocks but it wont let me. Looks like the silicon lottery got me this time or something. The O11G chips might be binned for all I know.
My idle temps were around 25-35c on the O11G card, so I'd like to believe that my airflow isnt the problem. The 11G card that I have now sits at 1493mhz even while idle, while the O11G clocked itself even lower to keep the temps down or something.
I find it quite annoying that the O11G card clocked itself to 2000mhz stock, without doing ANY manual overclocking, while the 11G card they sent me goes max 1798mhz. I do believe that 200mhz will affect my fps by a little atleast. I just wrote a mail to the company that sent me this replacement card and told them that its not acceptable.
well again, the O11G boosts to 2000MHz because that's the way Asus set the base clock frequency at the factory. They could have done the same thing to the 11G card but either the silicon wasn't up to snuff or they wanted to have a seperate "Factory OC" SKU. What I find puzzling is that the card doesn't idle down to 300MHz. Do you have a program running in the background that uses some GPU power? That would be the only reason I can think of that the idle speed of the card to be at 1493MHz is that it's not REALLY idle...
