 hi i had some question about downgrading thru the ipsw files found on ipsw.me and I would like to know what the difference between the signed and unsigned variants. also, can I update back to the current/most recent os thru the built in updated in ios?

The minimum you can currently go is 6.1.3

You cannot restore the unsinged IPSW's. And yes you can get back after downgrading.

If you have an old version of IOS, yes. But if you are jailbroken you will need to update through iTunes.
