So, I recently bought a new GPu, since my old GTX660 is so old it started showing signs of aging and I wanted to play all the new games in 1080p60. I bought MSI Geforce 1060 6GB Gaming X. For a couple of months it worked really well, better than I expected, but recently I started notricing severe framedrops even under lightest load. After some testing I open up my case and instntly greeted by the heatwave from my GPU, apparently fans didnt spin under load and even if reached 100 degrees celcius fans wont turn on. I downloaded MSI afterburner to see whatsup, but even if I put fan speed at 100% they wont start at all.

TL;DR Fans on GPU wont spin what to do

Specs:

CPU: Intel I7 860 @2.8Ghz

RAM: DDR3 8GB 1333Mhz

PSU: Cougar 600W

GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X

I think your GPU got the 0dB tolerance, which means the fans will start spinning when it reaches a certain degrees.

-edit-

If the fans won't do shit, then you should RMA it.

fans don't spin under load or idle? chances are nothing is wrong, the card just isn't hot enough to spin up like @CTR640 said

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

Have another look at the OP post.  He sees 100 degrees with no fan spin.  It's not the 0DB stuff.
