Mute a mic without third-party software

I know this isn't the right place for it, there ia s mobility center but that only mutes audio, not a mic, can anyone tell me a mute command for a mic without software

Unplug the connector USB,XLR or 3.5MM and no one can hear you :D

Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording -> [Recording Device] -> Properties

 

Adjust the input volume from there. Pain in the ass, but it works.
