Hello everyone,

My Brother has a problem with his gaming laptop(custom build from XMG). It is of course connected to network problems... So, when he tries to download anything(beside torrents) the laptop downloads 3 MB and then stops downloading, deletes the file and starts all over again, and again and again... Could you guys please suggest what I should do for him?

I tried:1) looking at firewall and anti-virus if it is not blocked or something - NO

          2) I could swap the wireless card but I can't get to it sadly :( (I jsut don't know what screws to undo to remove the plastic shroud without detaching the cooler from CPU and chipset and other stuff)

BTW it has Wi-fi card: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235(with bluetooth)post-21779-0-09621800-1388926375_thumb.p

Thanks for any suggestions.

For more info just ask below.(in the attachments I put a part list of the laptop

Hah I forgot that the laptop can't download more then 2 MB :D:D, had to download it from another PC :D:D. Just trying it(I'll edit this post with the results, maybe :D)

Hmmm this is pretty bad... I just tried to install the driver and the PC after I installed it said that ''wireless driver is not installed'' or something like that. so... then I tried unistalling the original drivers of the PC that were there, but that did  not help, it made it even worse, cause now I can't even connect to the internet(with wireless, cable works) and the driver still doesn't want to install, it shows up just as unknown device driver- Network driver :(. The cable is another thing, cause even the cable can'T download more then 2 MB before it stops, deletes the file and start over like I said, that seems like general PC internet problem, so it does not seem like just wifi card problem or driver thing  :(:( Any ideas?

  • I'm guessing this doesn't happen on other computers?
  • What is the file, from what site? Can you give me a link to do a couple tests?

It doesn't happen on any other PC.. and for the link it will be difficult, cause it happens with every file. Doesn't depend on the site. Even steam updates do that.

Download 3DP chip, check the exact name of the driver, Search the driver installation file and transfer it from USB. Lastly try using a download manager to see where the problem lies.

@chos5555, one possible thing it could be is a piece of malware of some kind, the problem you got sounds kind of bizarre, I've never heard of that problem before.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.
